The Three Biggest September 2026 Book Releases
Three books are going to be everywhere this month. If you only preorder from this section, you will still have a very good September.
The Knave and the Moon by Rachel Gillig

This is one of my most anticipated book releases of 2026. The Knave and the Moon picks up the Stonewater Kingdom story with a knave who has neither name or memory rising through the tournaments, and Sybil pushing back against King Benji's power. Gillig writes the kind of gothic, myth soaked fantasy that people finish at 2 a.m. and then immediately reread the last chapter.

Demons are moving through New Haven and Yale, and Alex Stern is once again the only person willing to walk toward them. Bardugo's dark academia series has gotten darker and better with every book, and this one closes the trilogy, which is why it arrives with the highest expectations of the three headliners.

The saga ends here.
