The wait for the final book in Devney Perry's Chains of the Seven trilogy just got a little easier to bear, because we finally have a title and a cover. Meet Seven and the Swift, the third and final book in the series that began with Shield of Sparrows, and it lands March 9, 2027.

If you have been spiraling about that one question since book one, you are not alone. We have been right there with you.

"Why seven? Why is that number important?"

Odessa asked it in Shield of Sparrows, the whole series is literally named for the Chains of the Seven, and the conclusion is finally going to give us an answer. We are equal parts thrilled and terrified.

For a complete refresher before book three, read my Shield of Sparrows recap, get reacquainted with the cast in the Shield of Sparrows character guide, and if you are still hungry for more of this world, here are books like Shield of Sparrows to tide you over.

What we know so far

This is the conclusion of the trilogy, picking up after the events of Rites of the Starling, which was hands down one of our favorite sequels of the year. Expect the slow burn to finally pay off, the cursed realm to run out of time, and at least one moment that leaves you staring at the wall. If the ending of book two wrecked you, consider this your warning to brace yourself all over again.

There is also a deluxe limited edition coming, with a limited first print run available in the US and Canada only. If you collect the special editions the way we do, this is not one to sleep on.

Seven and the Swift (Shield of Sparrows, #3)

The third and final book in Devney Perry's epic, slow-burn romantasy trilogy. Releases March 9, 2027. A deluxe limited edition is available on a limited first print run in the US and Canada only.

Where to start if you are new to the series

This is one of the few trilogies we will tell you to read in full and in order. The slow burn and the politics of the five kingdoms reward you for sticking with the whole arc, so do not start here. Begin with book one and let it sink its talons in.

Shield of Sparrows (Book 1)

A forgotten princess is forced into marriage and a treacherous quest across a realm stalked by monsters. The enemies-to-lovers slow burn that started it all.

Rites of the Starling (Book 2)

Calandra's five kingdoms are on the verge of destruction. Our favorite sequel of the year, and the book that left half the fandom not okay. Read our full Rites of the Starling guide.
