August is here which means long summer evenings, iced drinks on the porch, and (of course) a fresh wave of new book releases to devour before fall arrives!
Whether you’re in the mood for laugh-out-loud romance, mysteries, or fantasy, this month’s lineup truly has something for everyone.

August 5 Releases
Accomplice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer
The laugh-out-loud viral TikTok series returns! Evie Sage is back at the side of the kingdom’s most terrifying villain, navigating magical chaos, questionable office politics, and a growing list of people trying to kill them both. If you loved Assistant to the Villain, this follow-up promises even more snark, romance, and fantasy hijinks! This is my current read and I am loving it!
The Blonde Who Came in from the Cold by Ally Carter
The queen of YA heists and spy thrillers turns her sharp humor and fast pacing to adult fiction again with the second book in the Blonde Identity series! I enjoyed both of these books so much!
Mistress of Bones by Maria Z. Medina
Dark fantasy lovers, this one’s for you. With lush prose and gothic atmosphere, Mistress of Bones is a tale of magic, danger, and power. I just received a copy of this and I cannot wait to read it!
