If you’re like me and can’t resist a sweet, slightly cheesy, Hallmark-style holiday romance every December, then You Make It Feel Like Christmas is going to hit all the right notes!
With a snow-dusted Christmas tree farm, a grumpy hockey player, and a photographer who refuses to let go of old grudges, this one has all the cozy holiday vibes.
Book Summary
Maisie Smart has always had a don’t-look-back policy.
She doesn’t regret choosing photography over her family’s expectations, and she definitely doesn’t want to relive the mortifying one-night stand she had with a professional hockey player six months ago.
Unfortunately, the holidays have a way of digging up the past, and Maisie finds herself spending Christmas week at Tickle Tree Farm where, of course, he happens to be the owner's brother.
Nick King is in just as much of a mess. Benched after a hockey injury, he’s holed up at his sister’s farm to regroup. But running into Maisie (the one woman he can’t stop thinking about) throws all his plans out the window. Too bad she’s still furious at him for bailing the morning after.
As the snow falls and the lights twinkle, Nick and Maisie are stuck in close quarters. Forced proximity, family chaos, and undeniable chemistry start to melt old bitterness into something new. And if Christmas is the season of second chances, maybe love deserves one too!
My Review
⭐ Rating: 4/5 stars
Cozy, festive, and exactly what I wanted for the season!
This book was exactly what I hoped it would be: sweet, predictable, cozy, and brimming with festive charm. Was it cliché at times? Absolutely. Did I care? Not one bit!
I devoured it in 24 hours, curled up with my coffee and cozy blanket, and it felt like watching my favorite Hallmark holiday movie come to life.
- The Holiday Atmosphere: From the Christmas tree farm setting to the family hijinks, this book delivered the warm, twinkly vibe I crave in December.
- The Romance: Maisie and Nick’s chemistry leaned more on the soft and slow side, sprinkled with classic second-chance angst. Did I want just a little more spark? Sure. But it worked for the cozy tone.
- The Characters: I actually think Maisie and Nick could have had more depth, but I was HERE for Nick’s sister. Single mom with the cutest little boy and Christmas tree farm owner? She needs her own book. Immediately.
Final Thoughts

…then You Make It Feel Like Christmas belongs on your holiday TBR. Will I reread it every December the way I rewatch The Holiday? 100%. Because sometimes you just need a story that feels like a cozy flannel wrapped hug.
