OMG, you guys! On The Slopes of Tahoe is EVERYTHING. This is book 2 in the Love Along The Way series, and while it picks up after On A Flight to Sydney, you can totally read it as a standalone (but trust me, you’ll want to go back and read the first one after this!).

Summary (spoiler free)

We’re following Breck and his adorable daughter, Willow, as they leave Sydney behind and head to Tahoe. Why? Well, Willow’s mom walked out on them, and now he’s trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces. So, he packs up and heads to Tahoe for some much-needed R&R.

Enter Rory—Wes’s little sister, who’s there to help them settle in. But Rory’s not just the helpful type; she’s dealing with her own messy family stuff, too. And guess what? She connects with both Breck and Willow almost instantly. The chemistry between Rory and Breck is off the charts (even with that 8-year age gap!), but of course, there’s some miscommunication that’ll have you feeling ALL the feels. I mean, I could seriously feel Rory’s self-doubt and struggles, and I just wanted to reach into the book and give her a big hug. She’s such a relatable character, especially if you’ve ever been a people-pleaser who has had to learn to find your own voice!

Review

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.5/5)

This book is all about discovering who you’re meant to be—and who you’re meant to be with. It’s got that perfect blend of sweet and steamy, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and some serious heartstring-pulling scenes.

And can we talk about Jamie, Rory’s BFF? He’s literally perfection. I’m crossing my fingers we get more of him in the next book because he totally deserves his own story!

Also, the way Breck supports Rory’s dreams? SWOON. He’s not just a hot single dad with an accent—he’s the kind of guy who lifts you up and helps you see your own worth.

And Willow? Her sass is next-level delightful. There’s this scene where Breck and Willow make Rory a heart-shaped pizza with all her favorite toppings, and it’s just... chef’s kiss. Oh, and don’t even get me started on that counter kiss!

Final Thoughts

I devoured this book! It’s light, fun, and totally heartwarming. The character growth is so beautifully written, and all the side stories fit perfectly into the main plot.

Honestly, I hadn’t even read the first book in the series, but this one stood strong all on its own (though now I’m 100% going back to read book one!).

If you’re looking for a feel-good romcom that’s got all the swoony vibes and a healthy dose of heart, On The Slopes of Tahoe is for you. Huge thanks for the eARC—I adored every single page!
